Gas Networks Ireland Price Control 5

The CRU has today published an Information Paper setting out its strategy for the fifth gas networks Price Control (PC5). In the PC5 Project, the CRU will determine the efficient level of revenue required by Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) to operate, maintain and develop the Irish gas distribution and transmission networks for the period October 2022 to September 2027. This information paper is the first major publication in the PC5 project. It gives the policy and market context for PC5 and discusses the main challenges and opportunities GNI is likely to face in the PC5 period. The paper also outlines some potential changes to the regulatory framework for gas, which will be consulted upon later in the year. Alongside the information paper, the CRU has published its recent letter of engagement to GNI for the PC5 Project, highlighting the key objectives for the project.
