The CER has today, 3rd November 2014,
published a Press Release regarding the prosecution of an individual for
illegally carrying out restricted electrical work and portraying himself as a
Registered Electrical Contractor.
Under the Electricity Regulation Act
1999 (as amended) it is a criminal offence for any individual to portray
themselves as a Registered Electrical Contractor and to carry out restricted
electrical work while not being registered with a Safety Supervisory Body.
